PDC Spas |
Other Brands |
What determines the strength of the spa? |
Cast acrylic, Lucite. Fiberglass backed with non-filled resins. Foam layer for insulation only. |
Co-Extruded, Centrex, can not be backed with fiberglass for strength and relies on full foam cavity for support. Salesmen may tell you it is there for insulation. |
What is the most efficient filtration method? |
Pressure-side design forces dirty water thru filter without bypass. |
Suction-side design pulls dirty water through filter without the pressure of the pump allowing water to bypass when filter cartridge is dirty. |
What is the best insulation? |
Patented TemperLOK design offers proven heat savings over foam-filled, is lighter for quicker installation and removable cabinet sides assure economical servicing. |
Foam-filled cavity is heavier for tougher installs and moves, difficult for servicing as the foam must be dug away to reveal the problem. Foam cavity supplies support and no additional insulation factor over the TemperLOK design. |
Is framing necessary and what is the best method? |
Our wooden framing is far superior in both strength and longevity. Many spas older than 20 years are still operating flawlessly without the latest technology buzz of steel framing. Try drilling into a rafter in an old barn, consider the easy twisting of light gauge steel. |
Steel framing is the latest buzz in the industry when in actuality it is a savings in manufacturing. Salesmen would have you believe it is steel girders in your spa when it is a lighter gauge stamped steel. Using metal is the accountant's decision, not the developer's decision. |
Is there a preferred design for ease of service? |
PDC Spas offers the AdvantagePack design with the support equipment located on a single plate beneath a matching end cabinet for the service man's dream spa. If this option is not chosen, the TemperLOK design assures ease of service by simply removing a side panel to expose equipment and plumbing without disturbing the insulation. |
Many manufacturers place the equipment in hard to get to areas beneath the spa shell making it difficult to expose. Add the foam filled cabinet and the service call becomes a nightmare with a huge invoice to follow. |
Manufacturer's industry experience. |
PDC Spas has 50 years of industry experience. MADE IN THE USA. Our support is only a phone call away and product quality has to be the best or we would never have recognized success for this long. |
Watch the manufacturer is not new to the industry or a take-over from a larger brand. More importantly, beware of the cheaper spas being imported from China. If the price looks too good to be true, it is. Their quality is inferior and the customer support is non-existant. |
Support and Service |
Direct toll free access to the factory. Knowledgeable retailers are required to attend sales and service courses to correctly represent our product. |
Read the fine print and beware of Chinese imports and big box distributors. They are not trained in hot tubs, only in making the sale. |
Product Warranty |
up to 35 year structure on our LX Series |
Beware of "Lifetime" warranties. They are controlled by state guidelines. In PA, that is equal to 7 years only. Read the fine print and buy from a reputable manufacturer. |
What determines the maximum hydrotherapy experience? |
PDC Spas matches their jet count, jet type to HP of pump. If there is not a balance, the hydrotherapy can be too weak or too strong. A large jet count or a high HP numer does not mean a great hot tub. We offer the Air'assage air therapy system for an overall general massage action. This is a higher manufacturing cost but feel a feature you should not be without. This is a molded air channel and NOT a plumbed air injector system. Standard on our LX Series. |
Watch for high jet counts and large HP number. This does not equal a benefitting hydrotherapy experience. Do not compare our Air'assage system with air injectors. They provide high pressured local water action from a tube and grommet design. The longevity of the system and the benefits do not compare to the molded design of the PDC Spas unit. |
